Protégez-Vous takes a closer look at cars and homes insurances

Are consumers generally satisfied with their auto and home insurers when it comes time to make a claim? Which companies truly have a strong reputation for quality service? That’s what Protégez-Vous set out to discover by surveying more than 1,000 members of its panel. Nine Quebec insurers were evaluated, including Desjardins General Insurance, Belair Direct, and Intact Insurance. The results revealed some fascinating results. Jean-Luc Lavallée of Protégez-Vous shares the conclusions of their satisfaction study:

The price survey also highlights the importance of shopping around for insurance when renewing a policy to avoid wasting several hundred dollars. Some insurers stood out for their competitiveness, while others ranked at the bottom of the sample. Once again, here is Jean-Luc Lavallée:

The full 14-page report includes tips for shopping wisely for insurance, tools to assess the risks that may threaten your property, and step-by-step guidance on what to do in the event of a claim or dispute with an insurer. The results of the auto and home insurance survey are now available on the Protégez-Vous website. They will also be published in the September–October 2025 issue of the magazine, now on newsstands.
