Daniel Lamarche was elected to Otter Lake’s council seat three in a by-election this past Sunday (July 10), defeating Roslyn Carter and Brian McMahon. According to preliminary results, Lamarche obtained 175 votes to 25 for Carter and 5 for McMahon. CHIP 101.9 is expecting to speak with Lamarche in the coming days.

The candidates have been finalized in the by-election race for l’Île-du-Grand-Calumet’s fourth council seat, following Alice Meilleur-Pieschke’s retirement due to health reasons. Rolande Normandeau will be taking another crack at the position, as she was narrowly defeated by Meilleur-Pieschke (182 votes to 148) in last November’s general election.
