MRC des Collines police arrested a woman on Saturday night for impaired driving after she struck a cone and drove the wrong way on Hwy. 148 in the Municipality of Pontiac.

According to a press release, police were called about an erratic driver on the highway. The woman then struck a traffic cone and her car was stopped on the centre line. A citizen managed to take the woman’s keys to prevent her from fleeing, but she had a spare set and took off from the scene. Officers intercepted her driving the wrong way on the highway and arrested her at around 11:30 p.m. CHIP 101.9 requested further details about the incident, but MRC des Collines police declined to comment.

Following tests at the station, her blood alcohol level was found to be twice the legal limit. Her license was suspended for 90 days, and her car was impounded for 30 days. In addition to a date at the courthouse, she received a $322 ticket and 3 demerit points.
