On Saturday night (February 10), the 48th annual Community Bonspiel wrapped up at the Shawville Curling Club. This year’s edition, which took place across two weekends from February 1-10, saw 48 teams across eight divisions, a sizable increase from the previous year.

In a French-language interview Christine Rieux, the third on the winning team The Aggies, said that it was her dream to win the coveted Toilet Seat Trophy since becoming a club member in 2015.

She added that she was excited to win the event alongside two teammates who were brand-new to curling, as well as her long-time skip and curling mentor Joe Morris.

The 48th winners of the Shawville Curling Club’s annual Community Bonspiel were The Aggies, who were presented with the prestigious Toilet Seat Trophy by last year’s winner Basil Hodgins (centre).
