Samonix Project: Public hearing resumes on September 29th

The public review of the proposed intensive recirculating aquaculture facility in the Pontiac MRC continues.

The BAPE (Bureau d’audiences publiques sur l’environnement) announces that the second part of the public hearing will begin on September 29th at 7:00 p.m. at the Campbell’s Bay Recreation Centre, located at 2 Second Street. The meeting will also be accessible live on the BAPE website.

This second phase will allow citizens, municipalities, organizations, and interested groups to present their opinions on the Samonix Inc. project, either orally or in writing.

The BAPE commission is chaired by Jacques Bénard, with Martin Lessard as commissioner.

Those wishing to participate have several ways to share their views. Details and documentation regarding the project are available on the BAPE website.

The commission must submit its report to the Minister of the Environment, the Fight Against Climate Change, Wildlife and Parks no later than December 24th, 2026. The report must then be made public within 15 days.
