Otter-Lake presents plans for splash pad, RA upgrades

15 May 2023 à 2:51 pm

On Saturday morning (May 13), the Municipality of Otter-Lake held a public gathering to reveal their plans for a splash pad and numerous upgrades to their Recreation Association grounds.

The municipality plans to have the splash pad, which was an initiative started by the RA committee last year, installed this summer, as well as paving and improving the parking lot of the Raymond Johnston Centre. Mayor Terry Lafleur said that the full cost of all their planned upgrades is approximately $3 million, but they would be tackling it piece by piece over the course of the next five to ten years, depending on the amount of grant funding they receive.

Two cheques were also presented from community organizations that have been fundraising for the project. The Bumblebee Committee put forward $10,390 while the RA committee pitched in $40,000. Lafleur said that the RA had approached them about installing a splash pad last June, and helped in the application process for a grant through the MRC’s FRR program, while also raising the remainder needed through the community.

The plans for the RA grounds can be found here.
