Josey Bouchard announces intention to run for Pontiac Warden
Earlier this week, Campbell’s Bay councillor and community volunteer Josey Bouchard announced her intention to seek the position of MRC Pontiac Warden in this fall’s municipal elections.
“New challenge for me this fall, I am running to be the next Warden MRC Pontiac,” she wrote in a post on social media.
In addition to being elected to Cambell’s Bay council in 2021, Bouchard is one of the founders of Pontiac Voice, a local healthcare advocacy group. She is also the daughter of the late Charlotte L’Écuyer, Pontiac’s MNA from 2003-2014, and served as her mother’s campaign manager during the 2017 election for warden.
Bouchard was unable to give an interview about her announcement this week, but agreed to speak with CHIP 101.9 on Monday (July 14).
In an email Wednesday, MRC Pontiac Warden Jane Toller declined to say whether she intends to seek a third term.
“I have 4 months left in my term to complete many projects. No announcements today,” she wrote.
Election day is November 2, and candidates must file their nomination papers between September 19 and October 3. More information is available via Élections Quebec.
