Fire service agreements for Bryson and Ile-du-Grand-Calumet released

Fire service agreements for Bryson and Ile-du-Grand-Calumet released

4 July 2025 à 3:27 pm

Following the recent agreements that the municipalities of Bryson and Ile-du-Grand-Calumet signed to retain the services of the Campbell’s Bay-Litchfield Fire Department, CHIP 101.9 has obtained the full text of the documents. The documents are available here: Bryson Calumet.

Though the 5-year agreements are quite similar, Bryson is obligated to pay 20% of the department’s annual operating budget, while Ile-du-Grand-Calumet’s contribution is 30%, in four installments though the year. An administrative fee of 15% will be added of these payments. The municipalities are also responsible for firefighter salaries and fuel for any intervention on their respective territories.

The rates of 20% and 30% respectively will also apply to future capital expenditures, such as purchasing new equipment, though any vehicle acquisition will be subject to prior consultation between all the participating municipalities.

Campbell’s Bay will draft the operating budget each year, and forward the estimated contributions to each municipality. The participating municipalities will have a chance to make comments during an in-person meeting that Campbell’s Bay will organize.
