Crisis at the SAAQ; MRC Pontiac asks clients to be patient as delays are rampant
As is the case elsewhere in Quebec, the Société Assurance Automobile du Québec (SAAQ) in Campbell’s Bay is currently experiencing a lot of growing pains, causing sometimes significant delays in its service. According to the MRC Pontiac’s Strategic communications advisor and media contact, Colleen Jones, the delays are due to the major system update that the SAAQ undertook last month which saw every SAAQ offices shut down from January 26 to February 20.
On March 09, 2023, Jones issued a public notice advising Pontiac residents to expect significant delays at the licence bureau in Campbell’s Bay, asking people to be patient and polite when dealing with the SAAQ staff.
“We apologize for the inconvenience, and we thank you for being patient and understanding when you are in contact with our staff,” Jones said
On Monday (March 6) alone, the SAAQ processed 65,000 in-branch transactions across the province.
More details will be available soon.
