Bryson celebrating 150th anniversary with week-long summer festival

19 July 2023 à 3:42 pm

The village of Bryson is celebrating their 150th anniversary this year with a host of activities throughout the year to bring people from throughout the region to their small slice of the Pontiac.

Meghan Griffin, a volunteer with the 150 committee, explained that they’d had the summer festival in years past, but were reviving it for their 150 celebrations. A variety of entertainment and activities will be spread across August 4 to 13, from local musical acts to team sports and history tours.

To kick things on August 4, they will be opening a time capsule that was buried during the town’s 125th anniversary back in 1998. Griffin added that one of the highlights on the opening weekend (Saturday August 5) was the Krusher Extreme Sports Stunt Show, which features all kinds of exciting vehicular action.

She thanked all her fellow organizers, and said that it was great that so many different groups and community volunteers could come together to make all the Bryson 150 celebrations possible.

More information can be found on their Facebook page.
