The former mayor of Fort-Coulonge, Hector Soucie, explained to CHIP 101.9 the reasons why a cooperative is being created. Hector Soucie believes that the Coopérative de solidarité de la rivière Coulonge could help the Davidson Energy relaunch project.

For Hector Soucie, the Coopérative de solidarité de la rivière Coulonge will be inclusive. He asks the provincial government to give the necessary support to revive the forestry industry in the Pontiac.

Even if for the moment the Cooperative is formed mainly of members from the Fort-Coulonge/Mansfield region, Hector Soucie affirmed that the organization wishes to be made up of members and organizations from the 18 municipalities of the Pontiac.
