The newspaper Le Devoir devoted a page in their January 22 edition for an article on outdoor tourism in the Pontiac. The piece by Nathalie Schneider highlights the Davidson forest and a route offered by the Coopérative Aventure Hélianthe.

The co-op offers the “Coureurs des bois” package, a three-day guided hiking loop that is suitable for beginners. The journalist also spoke with Benoit Delage of the Conseil régional de l’environnement et du développement durable de l’Outaouais (CREDDO) about the project to protect 115,000 hectares in the Coulonge and Black River watersheds. Schneider notes that these areas are pristine, and suitable for canoe-camping.

“Few Quebecers know the Pontiac. Yet it is one of the largest wilderness areas in Quebec,” she wrote (translated).
