Ottawa Bluesfest unveils July 19th lineup to celebrate Ottawa 200
The Ottawa Bluesfest has unveiled the full lineup for its special July 19th event, organized as part of the Ottawa 200 celebrations.
In partnership with the City of Ottawa and Ottawa Tourism, the event will offer free programming for the whole family from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., followed by a major evening concert.
Artists scheduled to perform during the free daytime activities include Natalie MacMaster & Family, Choir! Choir! Choir!, and Les Petites Tounes. Musical initiatives such as Blues in the Schools and Be in the Band will also be featured.
In addition to musical performances, a variety of family-friendly activities will be available. Ingenium will offer interactive experiences, while Cirquonscient will present circus and aerial arts performances. The Ottawa Fire Services will also take part with various demonstrations and activities.
In the evening, from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., ticket holders will be able to attend a concert featuring several Canadian artists, including The Guess Who, Connor Price, The Sheepdogs, Elisapie, and Samantha Martin & Delta Sugar. A drone show will round out the evening.
Tickets for the evening show are available starting at $40 until June. To improve accessibility, the City of Ottawa also plans to distribute up to 2,000 free tickets through community partners.
Ottawa Mayor Mark Sutcliffe noted that July 19th marks the 200th day of the year, a symbolic moment to celebrate this milestone anniversary.
A portion of the proceeds will be donated to CHEO as well as the À la Carte food program.
