ACQ’s Camp des Métiers Construction Tour Stops in Gatineau
The Association de la construction du Québec (ACQ) is pleased to announce that the 2026 Camp des Métiers Construction tour will stop at the Centre de formation professionnelle des Portages-de-l’Outaouais (Asticou) on Saturday, February 21 and Sunday, February 22, starting at 8:30 a.m.
As the construction industry faces a significant labour shortage, many participants are expected this weekend to explore various construction trades.
Camp des Métiers Construction is an ACQ initiative aimed at promoting and showcasing careers in the construction industry. This free, immersive weekend experience allows participants to gain hands-on exposure to on-site trades.
The goal of the camp is to give participants the opportunity to test their skills, consider a career change, or simply satisfy their curiosity about the construction field.
According to the Commission de la construction du Québec, Quebec will face an average shortage of 16,000 construction workers per year by 2029. In the Outaouais region, annual needs are estimated at 800 workers, highlighting the importance of initiatives like Camp des Métiers Construction to attract new recruits.
