A Cooler-Than-Normal Summer in Quebec, but a Dry Fall Ahead, Says MétéoMédia
MétéoMédia meteorologists are forecasting a warmer-than-normal fall for much of the country, including Quebec. In the short term, between now and the end of September, while occasional cold spells may slip in from time to time, mild and pleasant weather will dominate. Patrick De Bellefeuille, meteorologist at MétéoMédia, shares his fall forecast for the Pontiac region:
In November, a shift toward colder weather and stronger systems is expected, with winter setting in quickly by December. Once again, here is Patrick De Bellefeuille:
Autumn is always a transitional season, marked by temperature fluctuations that inevitably move toward the cold. This year, however, the shift is expected to be more gradual than usual. From late September to late October—the heart of fall—mild conditions will prevail. Temperature contrasts will ease, and the weather will be more stable and often pleasant. Sunny days will be plentiful, creating ideal conditions for hiking and other outdoor activities. This pattern is linked to a ridge, supported by exceptionally warm anomalies in the North Pacific, that is expected to set up frequently over Eastern Canada.
