The Fondation Émergence is launching a virtual regional tour aimed at raising awareness among seniors about the realities of LGBTQ + seniors in the Outaouais. Fondation Émergence will target one region of Quebec per month and it will be in the Outaouais on January 27. The project manager at Fondation Émergence, Julien Rougerie, explained that LGBTQ + seniors were often invisible.

According to Julien Rougerie, COVID-19 has certainly highlighted the fragile state in which our elders find themselves, but he says that it is not only the current pandemic that is creating damage within this community. LGBTQ + seniors remain a largely invisible population and therefore particularly vulnerable according to Julien Rougerie. The training will specifically target the settings and services offered to seniors in the Outaouais region. It will be held on January 27 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. by videoconference. The full interview with Julien Rougerie is available here.
