A music festival will take place in Campbell’s Bay this weekend to celebrate the life of Cletus Ferrigan, a well-known resident and influential community member who passed away earlier this year.

Ferrigan’s son Tim explained that during the pandemic lockdowns, Cletus had been an active participant in several Facebook groups where musicians shared their music via livestream. Once public health restrictions started easing in 2022, he had planned for an in-person reunion concert in his hometown of Campbell’s Bay to fete the artists that he’d befriended online. He had even picked out a date in July, but unfortunately he passed away in April, just months short of realizing his dream.

Tim said that his father was well known throughout the Pontiac region due to his involvement in local politics and numerous other community initiatives. He said that the support his family received after he passed and in the organization of the event was overwhelming.

Things will get underway this Friday (July 22) at Mural Park on rue Front with a celebration of life ceremony from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and the music will get underway shortly after. Activities begin on Saturday at 10 a.m. and continue the whole day. The street will be blocked off so everyone has plenty of room to sit or dance as the situation requires. The event will also be streamed on social media for those not able to attend in person.

More information is available on their Facebook page.
