A Pontiac delegation went to the Hull Hospital Tuesday to express their dissatisfaction with the Minister responsible for the Outaouais region and Minister of Families, Mathieu Lacombe, after learning of the Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux de l’Outaouais’ (CISSSO) decision to close the obstetrics wing of the Pontiac Hospital for 6 months.

Among the protesters, we can note the presence of the mayor of Mansfield, Gilles Dionne, the mayor of Shawville, Sandra Murray, and the Mansfield councillor, Sandra Armstrong. On site, they hoped to meet with Minister Lacombe, who nevertheless said that he had not received any request to that effect.

The MNA for Pontiac, André Fortin, criticized Minister Lacombe for not having met with the protesters.

However, some members of the Pontiac delegation had the opportunity to meet with CISSS de l’Outaouais staff. This is the case for Sandra Armstrong, who said as of right now, she is satisfied with the first meeting with the CISSS de l’Outaouais.

A meeting is scheduled for Wednesday between the CISSS de l’Outaouais and elected municipal officials from the MRC Pontiac.
