In an recent interview, the Warden of the MRC Pontiac, Jane Toller gave her opinion regarding the Quebec government’s new regional Alert and Intervention system and the new citation protocol for individuals not wearing a mask in public indoor establishment. According to Toller, in addition to these new announcements, she believes that moving forward regular updates will once again be necessary to keep the public informed.

On Friday, the MRC Pontiac released a message from the Warden, in which she said ’’I am so proud of the results we’ve had so far in the Pontiac with zero cases. I know that we can continue this way as long as we remain vigilant and continue to wear our masks.’’

Regional Council meeting Wednesday

In the letter, Jane Toller also reminded citizens that the public TNO Council and Regional Council of Mayors meeting will occur on Wednesday, September 16th at 6:30 p.m. at the RA in Campbell’s Bay. Residents are welcome to attend and there will be a public question period and has assured the population that all of the safety precautions for COVID-19 will be taken, and members of the media will be present.

One of the more important topics that should be addressed at the council meeting is the initiative to start a pilot study in the Pontiac to offer equal starting pay for nurses as compared to Ontario.

’’I have written a letter to Mathieu Lacombe, Quebec’s Minister of Families and the Minister Responsible for the Outaouais region, in order to address this pay discrepancy and to discuss this pilot project with Premier François Legault,’’ - Jane Toller said in the Letter.
