Pontiac MP Sophie Chatel released a statement following her round table on agriculture on January 31 that included Agriculture Minister Marie-Claude Bibeau. She invited the public to comment on the priorities that had been discussed at the event through a website that they had created for the purpose.

“An analysis of the discussions during the roundtable and the action plans of groups committed to sustainable agriculture allowed us to identify five priority areas of intervention for Outaouais farmers namely: water deficit management, reduction of nitrogen-rich fertilizers, green technological innovations, protection of soil quality, and networking between farmers and local stakeholders,” she wrote.
