The curfew will finally be lifted across Quebec as of Friday, May 28. Patios and restaurants will be able to reopen and gatherings of eight in a backyard will also be permitted.

Premier François Legault unveiled the deconfinement schedule for all of Quebec on Tuesday. The “cautious” and “gradual” process takes place over three months.

François Legault said he was happy that 75% of adult Quebecers have already been vaccinated at least once, or have their appointment for their first injection. Mr. Legault sets in motion a step-by-step sequence for deconfinement, but wants as many people as possible to engage in vaccination.

Other steps will follow, but the announcements of the end of the curfew and other measures towards a return to normal have already delighted a majority of Quebecers.
