CSHBO : the procedures to recover school items are suspended

2 April 2020 à 12:00 am

The Hauts-Bois-de-l’Outaouais School Board announced Wednesday evening the immediate suspension of the steps taken to recover school items in all establishments.

This new indication comes after a recommendation received from Public Health department and an order from the Minister of Education, Jean-François Roberge. He said he was “very aware” of the inconvenience that the current situation creates for parents and staff, but said that health and safety must take precedence over any other consideration in this context.

Open school: an online educational resource
The Ministry of Education has announced the arrival of the Open School platform, which offers educational resources to parents and students. They will be able to carry out activities, in several subjects and at all school levels. These activities, whether academic, social or physical, will help to improve students’ knowledge and skills in various fields.

New content will be added every week, and additions for making it easier to find activities for students with special needs will also be made available soon. The objective behind the implementation of this platform is to maintain the achievements of the students and continue to stimulate their learning. It’s important to note that these activities are not mandatory and cannot be evaluated.

All ministry, and school exams are canceled. Regarding your child’s ranking for next year, you will receive further information from schools in May. With regard to students in general adult education and vocational training, details are still awaited from the Ministry concerning the methods for the continuity of learning.
