Chutes Coulonge Park held its annual general meeting on Tuesday night and took the opportunity to announce a new restructuring period. Last fall, the former director of the Park, Jean-François Dubois, left his position after more than 5 years in the position. The community organizer of the Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux de l’Outaouais (CISSSO), Michel Laporte, explains their objectives for the coming months.

Chutes Coulonge Park has a new Operations Manager, Élizabeth Khoury, who will also serve as Executive Director. At the AGM, she told us about her first reaction upon arriving.

Not being from the region, she gave some background information on herself before arriving in the Pontiac.

Elizabeth Khoury told us what she hopes to accomplish as an operations manager at Coulonge Falls Park.

To improve their marketing strategy, the park’s board of directors called on the SADC Pontiac Business advisor Brittany Morin who told CHIP about promotional projects for the coming months.

Britanny Morin said the ads will be targeting women between the ages of 25 and 45.

Last December, the Pontiac MRC Warden, Jane Toller, was nominated to the board of the Chutes Coulonge Park. She told CHIP 101.9 that her interest in getting involved in the organization, was due a lack of financial support, she was hoping to bring in energy, new ideas and funds. In March, the MRC granted $ 19,000 in funding to Chutes Coulonge.

Also at the AGM, it was agreed that a new director position will be created. The number of people on the board of directors has increased to 9 people. In addition, last fall’s internal changes brought some challenges to park administrators, as some documents and statistics were missing and thus could not be presented at this meeting.

Chutes Coulonge Park is set to open on May 12th.
