World Breastfeeding Week

World Breastfeeding Week takes place from October 1st to 7th, 2026, in Quebec and across Canada.

This year’s theme is “Breastfeeding for a Strong Start: Nurturing What Has Been Proven to Work.”

The Mouvement allaitement du Québec is using this week to remind everyone that, while breastfeeding is a personal choice and journey, supporting families is a collective responsibility.

The organization particularly emphasizes the importance of support provided by family and friends, healthcare professionals, community organizations, employers, municipalities, and businesses.

The Mouvement allaitement du Québec also wishes to acknowledge the work of community breastfeeding resources, counselors, volunteers, and mentors who support families throughout Quebec.
