William Amos’ position on inquiries into the floods and management of hydro dams

7 August 2019 à 12:00 am

Recently, the federal member of parliament for the Pontiac, Will Amos, has had several interviews with different media in the Ottawa-Gatineau area where he spoke in favor of an inquiry looking into the management of the hydro dams.

Over the last few weeks, CHIP 101.9 has followed this story closely and although the file started off as an independent inquiry into the management of the hydro dams, it has since been adapted into a scientific inquiry into the floods as supported by several politicians and mayors across the Outaouais, the National assembly and the Parliament of Canada.
Notably the Minister of environment and Climate Change, Catherine McKenna, the MNA for Pontiac, André Fortin and the Mayor of Gatineau, Maxime Pedneaud-Jobin.

In an interview, Will Amos talked about both, saying it is important to know the reason for the floods:

As we approach the Federal Elections in October of 2019, in that same interview with Will Amos, CHIP ask if his position on this matter, being one that represents the political position of the Federal Liberals, will be defended and part of his election campaign.

The full interview with Will Amos is available here.
