Last Friday, the Pontiac MP William Amos sent a letter to the Minister responsible for Outaouais, Mathieu Lacombe, in which he expressed the concerns of Pontiac people towards the government’s Special interventions Zone (ZIS).

In the letter, Amos said that the government has also been proactive in providing compensation by offering advance payments to the provinces as a way to facilitate their work and expedite the compensation process. He added that one of the comments he has heard most from people, is that they would like to be more consulted during this process. He said that the public consultation in Campbell’s Bay was a good initiative and welcomed the fact that the department took the trouble to organize such a meeting in the MRC Pontiac. According to William Amos, the people present had the opportunity to share their concerns, but they (the Pontiac citizens) unfortunately did not have any answer to their questions.

William Amos invited Mathieu Lacombe to join him on August 19th to listen to the citizens’ concerns during a public consultation that will take place from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at L’Isle-aux-Allumettes (6 rue St-Joseph). William Amos concludes by saying: “I hope you will be able to accompany me despite your busy schedule”.
