Western Quebec School Board: five new K4 classes starting in September
The Western Quebec School Board (WQSB) will open five new full-time K4 classes (for 4-year-olds) for the 2020-2021 school year. These new classes will be established in Wakefield, Aylmer (Gatineau) and in Abitibi-Témiscamingue. The WQSB currently offers full-time kindergarten classes for 4-year-olds in ten schools:
– Dr. S.E. McDowell Elementary School in Shawville;
– Dr. Wilbert Keon in Chapeau;
– Onslow primary school in Quyon;
– St. John’s Elementary School in Campbell’s Bay;
Outside Pontiac:
– the intermediate school of Namur;
– Buckingham Elementary School in Gatineau;
– Poltimore primary school in Val-des-Monts;
– Maniwaki school in Maniwaki;
– Queen Elizabeth Primary School in Kazabazua;
– the Golden Valley school in Val-d’Or.
Location of the new K4 classes:
La Pêche: Wakefield Elementary School
Gatineau (Aylmer sector): Eardley and Lord Aylmer elementary schools
Abitibi-Témiscamingue : école G. Théberge de Témiscamingue et l’école Noranda de Rouyn-Noranda
Note that the WQSB is establishing this new program to facilitate the global development and prepare children for the Preschool Education Program (5 year-olds) in line with the Québec daycare program Meeting Early Childhood Needs.
