Vaccination operations continue according to the CISSSO
The Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux (CISSS) de l’Outaouais said in a press release that COVID-19 vaccination operations are continuing with the opening of a new vaccination site at the Papineau Hospital. The CISSS de l’Outaouais said yesterday (January 13) it received 1,950 doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine which will be used both for health workers and for residents of the CHSLD Papineau. Doses of Moderna’s vaccine are also expected this week.
So far, 9 out of 16 CHSLDs have been visited as part of the vaccination campaign. Thus, 593 residents were vaccinated out of a total of 1,264, or 47% of them. “We are targeting the beginning of next week to finalize the vaccination of all CHSLD residents. In addition, and following the new directive which allows us to move small doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, we will move from tomorrow to other CHSLDs. This will all be done over short distances under strict conditions to ensure the correct use of the vaccine. We will also start vaccination in intermediate resources in the coming days. Regarding the vaccination of healthcare workers, 2,955 of them are now vaccinated. The vaccination of this priority group is therefore well underway and is continuing ”according to the CISSS de l’Outaouais.
The vaccination campaign is therefore going well in the region. The CISSS de l’Outaouais claims to have visited all the territories and to ensure equitable distribution in the region while respecting the list of priority groups. So far, around sixty people have been vaccinated in the Pontiac, but this figure should increase with the arrival of new doses of the Moderna vaccine.
