Vaccination campaign for children 5 to 11 starts today
The government of Quebec announced yesterday (November 23) that the vaccination of children aged 5 to 11 can now begin. As of today, they can be vaccinated in the centres provided for this purpose and, starting next week, in elementary schools according to Premier François Legault.
Legault said that the vaccine passport system would not apply to children under 12, and he invited families to weigh the advantages of vaccinating their children. In the Outaouais region, there are approximately 33,000 children now eligible for vaccinations. Parents will have the option of either having their child vaccinated through the school system or by making an appointment on the government’s website Clic-Santé.
According to a statement from the CISSSO, the vaccination of 5-11 year-olds will be mostly by appointment. However, they will offer a walk-in clinic every Saturday between 9:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at the Palais des Congrès in Gatineau.
