The Union des producteurs agricoles (UPA) this week launched the “Mangeons local plus que jamais” application, a new initiative that aims to promote local purchasing in Quebec.

In an interview with CHIP 101.9, the president of UPA Pontiac, Scott Judd, explained that this tool will help identify farms, markets and processors who sell directly to the public across the province.

At the moment, only a few Pontiac producers are on the app, as it was launched a few days ago. Other companies will be added over the next few weeks, as explained by Judd.

The “Mangeons local plus que jamais” app is available through the Google Play store. Both the IOS version and the web version should be available shortly, according to the UPA.
