Tourism Pontiac holds AGM, prepares for new website launch
Tourism Pontiac held their annual general meeting at Café Downtown in Fort-Coulonge on April 31, discussing the non-profit’s past year and their plans for promoting and stimulating tourism in the region. After conducting their AGM and discussing the past year’s activities and their goals, attendees listened to André Groulx of Tourisme Outaouais, who gave a presentation on the benefits and impacts of registering businesses with Aventure Écotourisme Québec and the Corporation de l’industrie touristique du Québec.
The organization finished 2024 with $22,199.44 in the bank, slightly down from the start of the year due to a decline in grant and membership revenues. President Emma Judd, the owner of Circa B&B in Shawville, explained that some projects they had been working on had not come to fruition just yet.
Their new website, created in collaboration with Calumet Media will be launching soon, Judd said, noting that they have funding through Google for targeted advertising.
