Tour of the MRC Pontiac National Park project for the Îles Lafontaine
Today, the MRC Pontiac’s Îles Lafontaine National Park Committee and Wilderness Tours oragnized a visit to the desired national park site. As the committee says, this was a “great opportunity to see the tremendous potential of this project and to meet with committee members”.
The National Park Committee has a goal to preserve elements of the region’s heritage and culture, and to protect the natural features of landscapes so that people can enjoy it.
The main objective of this project is to create a national park encompassing the Îles Lafontaine, Rocher-Fendu, the Ottawa River and the surrounding lands. More details on the progress of the committee formed last year will be available at CHIP 101.9 following this visit.
