There are no cases of COVID-19 in the MRC Pontiac
No case of COVID-19 has been identified specifically on the territory of the MRC Pontiac since the start of the crisis.
The Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux (CISSS) de l’Outaouais now discloses the number of people affected by municipalities. In the most recent update, no municipality in the MRC Pontiac is listed that section.
Only the municipality of Pontiac, included in the local Pontiac health network (réseau local de service or RLS), appears on the list, observing fewer than five cases in its sector.
The information officer at the CISSS de l’Outaouais, Patricia Rhéaume, confirmed this information to CHIP 101.9, adding that the new data publication methods were added following recommendations and that they had been approved by the government of Quebec.
The local health service network includes the eighteen municipalities of the MRC Pontiac, as well as the municipality of Pontiac, which are served by the health services located on the territory of the Shawville hospital.
At the beginning of April, the CISSS de l’Outaouais modified the separation of data on the territory on its website, from regional county municipalities (RCMs or MRCs) to local service networks (RLS). However, the same data are presented by MRC rather than by RLS on the English version of the CISSS website.
The CISSS de l’Outaouais would like to point out, however, that community transmission remains possible in the MRC Pontiac, and that it remains important to respect and apply the measures implemented by the Government of Quebec to limit the spread of the virus.
