27 April 2026 à 11:45 am

Community mobilization is gaining momentum in the Outaouais region as the Walk for Alzheimer prepares to bring people together on Sunday, May 31st, 2026, at Lac Leamy Beach.

Starting at 9:30 a.m., participants, families, and partners are expected to attend this annual event, which aims to raise awareness about cognitive health and support individuals affected by Alzheimer’s disease.

Organizers note that the campaign’s goal is to raise more than $40,000 to support services provided by the Alzheimer Society Outaouais. They encourage individually registered participants to form teams or join other walkers to strengthen the collective effort.

The day is also designed to be festive and family-friendly. Singer Yannick Pépin will provide on-site entertainment, while lunch boxes will be offered in partnership with Les Résidences Chartwell. All proceeds will go directly to the cause.

The site will also host a variety of activities, and participants are invited to enjoy the outdoors in a welcoming atmosphere. Dogs are welcome as well.

Those interested can still register and purchase promotional items through the event’s online store.

The IG Walk for Alzheimer remains an important event in the Outaouais region, both for raising awareness and for supporting affected families.
