The vaccination site in the Pontiac now operational
The Campbell’s Bay Recreation Center welcomed its first clients to receive vaccines. CHIP 101.9 had the chance to tour the premises, including parts prohibited to the public.
When arriving, people have to disinfect their hands, but also change their mask. Masks are provided by the Vaccination Center, allowing the public to enter inside. Once inside, they must go to the reception desk before being vaccinated.
“You really have to have an appointment before you come on site. By going to the website, you go get an appointment to pick up your first dose, ”explains Lucille Bélair, a healthcare worker, who came out of retirement for this important operation.
After the reception desk, people are invited to go to the vaccination post. They are then invited to stay in the waiting room. “We observe a few minutes to ensure that there is no reaction,” says Ms. Bélair.
There are also other rooms which are used and which are mainly used for storing vaccines. “This room is closed to the public and there is only me and one other person who keeps the vaccines who are authorized to be there,” emphasizes Ms. Bélair. In this room, there is a freezer to preserve the temperature of the vaccines. Also, several safety devices have been added.
“We are ready to welcome you. Even if we have masks I can assure you that we are still wearing a smile”, assures Lucille Bélair.
