The SAQ on strike today
The unionized employees of the Société des alcools du Québec (SAQ) branches held a strike day today across the province. The SAQ Pontiac will be closed for the day.
SAQ employees have not had a collective agreement since March 31, 2017. Last June, after 16 months of bargaining, union members voted 91% in favor of a six-day strike. Improving work-family-education balance and reducing job insecurity are the main priorities of concern to unionised workers.
