The rules on gatherings also applies to cottage owners
The right to outdoor gatherings also applies to cottage owners, the health network in Outaouais said Thursday.
The medical advisor to the public health directorate of the Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux de l’Outaouais (CISSSO), Dre. Carol McConnery, explained that vacationers can organize gatherings on their property, as long as hygiene measures are respected.
Dr. McConnery also indicated that residents of Ontario can participate in an outdoor gathering held on the land of a friend or family member on the Quebec side, while ensuring compliance with the distancing measures.
As of Friday, May 22, outdoor gatherings will be allowed, under certain conditions:
– gatherings must be limited to a maximum of 10 people
– gatherings must include people from a maximum of 3 households (who live in three different homes)
– the minimum distance of 2 meters must be maintained
– wearing a mask or face covering is strongly recommended
Concretely, it will be possible, for example, to invite two families of friends to their home for a barbecue in a backyard or to let the children of three different families play together in the yard, as long as all respect the physical distance of two meters. In all cases, a total grouping of up to ten people will be tolerated outside.

Limit travel between regions to the essentials
The recent lifting of roadblocks between the regions of Quebec and the gradual deconfinement does not however give green light to inter-regional travel.
The Deputy Premier of Quebec Geneviève Guilbault, who replaced Premier François Legault on Wednesday for the daily assessment of the pandemic, recalled that inter-regional travel should be limited to the essentials.
However, she explained that this lifting of the barriers can effectively allow families to find parents who have been isolated in the past two months.
