The Réseau BIBLIO de l’Outaouais highlights the excellence of its libraries
On June 6th, the Réseau BIBLIO de l’Outaouais presented its annual merit awards to highlight the outstanding work of its member libraries for the period of January to December 2025.
Six distinctions were awarded across various categories, recognizing library performance in areas such as local collection development, digital services, programming, promotion, and facility enhancement.
Winners received a trophy along with a $250 gift certificate redeemable at an accredited bookstore in the region — a gesture meant to acknowledge their commitment to cultural vitality and access to information within their communities.
In the category for libraries serving fewer than 1,200 residents, the Lac‑des‑Plages library was honored. For municipalities with more than 1,201 residents, the award went to Montpellier.
The Mayo library stood out among small municipalities, while Saint‑André‑Avellin was recognized among larger ones.
In this same category, Kazabazua was acknowledged for smaller libraries, while Mansfield‑et‑Pontefract distinguished itself among more populous municipalities.
According to the organization, these awards aim to recognize the creativity, innovation, and dedication of local teams who contribute to the dynamism of public libraries across the region.
The Réseau also invites the public to visit its Facebook page to view photos of the winners and share in celebrating the achievements of Outaouais municipalities.
