The Public Security of the MRC des Collines-de-l’Outaouais remind hunters of the travel restrictions to MRC Pontiac
The opening season for wild turkey was an opportunity for the Public Security Services of the MRC des Collines-de-l’Outaouais to remind hunters in the City of Gatineau and the MRC-des-Collines- de-l’Outaouais not to travel to the MRC Pontiac. In a Facebook post, the Public Security mentioned that, as the service responsible for the roadside check points in the Collines-de-l’Outaouais territory, the Public Security Service reiterated the message sent by theMinistère des Forêts, de la Faune et des Parcs du Québec to fishermen and hunters who intend to travel during this COVID-19 Pandemic.
The Public Security Service of the MRC des Collines-de-l’Outaouais stated that hunting and fishing enthusiasts are required to respect and comply at all times to the directives and recommendations of the Direction nationale de la santé publique aimed to limit the spread of COVID-19. Such as avoiding travel, except when necessary. Travel related to leisure is not considered “essential”. Residents of the City of Gatineau and the MRC des-Collines-de-l’Outaouais cannot access the other MRCs in the Outaouais.
On the other hand, the Public Security Service explained that residents of the city of Gatineau and the MRC des Collines-de-l’Outaouais are allowed to circulate (fish and hunt) inside the “BUBBLE” of the MRC-des-Collines-de-l’Outaouais (municipalities of Pontiac, Chelsea, La Pêche, Cantley, Val-des-Monts, l’Ange-Gardien and Notre-Dame-de -la-Salette) and in the City of Gatineau, while respecting the provincial and municipal regulations.
The Public Security Service of the MRC des Collines-de-l’Outaouais also wanted to emphasize and thank all those who respected government directives and that only 8.1% of people questioned so far at control points had to turn back.
