The Pontiac is still under strict surveillance

Dr Brigitte Pinard repeated it, despite a certain stability of cases in the last days, the COVID-19 situation in the Pontiac is under close surveillance.

Since the start of the pandemic, the community of Fort-Coulonge and Mansfield has had a total of 72 cases, the majority of which appeared in the past two weeks. A sign that the pandemic is spreading throughout the territory, the municipality of Waltham now has 7 cases. According to the authorities, vaccination is the solution to defeat the virus. The person in charge of the vaccination operation in the Outaouais, Nency Héroux, confirmed that the appeal launched last week on CHIP 101.9 by Warden Jane Toller would make it possible to obtain resources to set up a mobile unit and continue the vaccination.

The mobile unit should therefore be set up in the coming weeks to lend a hand to the Campbell’s Bay vaccination center, but trips elsewhere in the Pontiac are also expected.

The statistics on the number of COVID-19 cases in the Outaouais are available here.
