The Plein(s) Écran(s) festival stops in Fort-Coulonge for a free evening of short films
The Plein(s) Écran(s) festival will stop in Outaouais on May 22nd as part of its Par-Court Pleins Écrans tour, which is currently traveling across Quebec to showcase the best in short films to audiences in the regions.
Presented free of charge at Cinéma Lyn starting at 7 p.m., this evening will mark the festival’s very first visit to the region. Film lovers will have the chance to discover a selection of notable Quebec short films, including L’été des chaleurs, winner of the 2025 Grand Prize.
The event will also highlight the work of Gatineau filmmaker Cristi Parpalita, who will meet the audience after the screening. His short film Cartouche, an offbeat comedy telling a love story with a printer, will be among the featured works.
A graduate of Cégep de l’Outaouais and Concordia University, Cristi Parpalita has already made a name for himself in the film scene with selections at several festivals, including Fantasia and the Outaouais Film Festival (FFO). Since last fall, he has also been producing and hosting the cultural show Le Labyrinthe.
The filmmaker is currently preparing a new short film, which will be shot in Pontiac.
The Par-Court Pleins Écrans tour runs from May 19th to June 4th and aims to bring creators and audiences together across communities throughout Quebec.
