This evening, Pierre Fréchette’s successor as mayor Mayor of Île-du-Grand-Calumet will be revealed.
Mr. Fréchette resigned over ten days ago, citing principles as the reason for his departure.

During the last two transitions, the deputy mayor Jean-Louis Corriveau had assumed the interim.

Given that general municipal elections will be held in less than 5 months, on November 5, the councillors will have to vote by secret vote on their choice to assume the position of mayor during the next few months.
