The Municipality of Bristol presents a balanced budget for 2020

Contrary to other municipalities in the MRC Pontiac, the municipality of Bristol is maintaining a balanced budget for 2020. However, the 2019 floods still took its toll on the municipal budget, though as explained by Mayor Brent Orr, the municipality received compensation from the Québec government:

For Bristol, the municipal budget for 2020 totals $2, 784, 201 which compares to $2, 796, 802 a difference of – $12, 601. We can note an increase in ratepayers and decrease in Conditional transfers. For 2020, we can also note that the tax rate for ratepayers will remain the same as in 2019: 0.65/100.

According to Brent Orr, the municipality of Bristol will be concentrating on transportation for 2020, repairs are scheduled for Park and Wharf roads with improvement to its street lights and drainage along with the paving of part of Ragged Chute rd.
