The MRC Pontiac launches the COVID-19 Economic Recovery Fund
In a press release, the MRC Pontiac announced the establishment of $ 70,000 available to help local businesses in their COVID-19 recovery efforts. These funds are available in the form of non-repayable grants of up to $ 5,000, to be used to help local businesses implement new measures, adapt their business practices and reorient their activities according to the new economic reality.
While the situation around the coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to evolve, the MRC Pontiac is there to support our small local businesses in their navigation of adaptation and
changes, the press release said.
‘Small business plays a critical role in our economy and we are here to offer support’, says
Cyndy Phillips, Director of Economic Development for the MRC Pontiac. ‘Our local
businesses have had to explore new ways of doing business, look towards new markets and
shift their marketing efforts. The MRC recognizes the hard work that has been done and
continues to be done by our entrepreneurs, and we want to help offset some of the
unforeseen expenses tied to shifting business practices.’
