The Mayor of La Pêche asks visitors to limit their travels

Citizens of the municipality of La Pêche, located in the MRC des Collines-de-l’Outaouais, near the Pontiac, reported that visitors have come and gone in the community in the past few days, despite the measures implemented by the various levels of government in response to COVID-19.

In an interview with CHIP 101.9 this week, the mayor of La Pêche, Guillaume Lamoureux, reminded his residents of the urgency of the situation and asked visitors to limit their trips in order to avoid the spread of the virus.

Among the measures taken to limit the impact of COVID-19 on the La Pêche territory, the municipal council has notably decided to suspend the accumulation of interest on debts owed to the municipality and plans to make regular follow-ups with businesses and local organizations to assess the situation.

The reduction in the interest rate on all debts owed to the municipality decreased from 14% to 0% for the period from March 16th to May 16th, 2020.

Closure of municipal infrastructure
Several infrastructures have been closed to prevent the spread of COVID-19, including:
– The municipal office (services available at 819 456-2161 and at reception@villelapeche.qc.ca)
– The La Pêche Sports Complex (arena)
– Community centers
– Libraries
– Municipal parks
– Wakefield sector parking lots
– The doors of the covered bridge, which will be closed from Friday noon until Monday noon.
