8 June 2021 à 12:00 am

Chelsea Mayor Caryl Green has announced that she will be a candidate for the newly created post to become the first elected Warden of the MRC des Collines-de-l’Outaouais in the municipal elections next November.

This will be the first time that the warden will be elected by all eligible voters in the seven municipalities of the MRC des Collines-de-l’Outaouais. The Warden’s post was previously a part-time appointed post, and Ms Green was appointed to this post in November 2017 by her fellow mayors.

As the Warden of the MRC, I will focus on the following issues: relaunching development and economic recovery after the pandemic; social development, especially housing and food security; the management of risks related to climate change; efficient and responsible waste management; the implementation of our agricultural policy and our action plan; and finally the improvement of police services based on the recommendations of the Green Paper.
– Caryl Green

After three terms, Ms Green will step down as mayor of Chelsea.

It has truly been an honor and a privilege to serve the residents of Chelsea.
