“The lifting of the measures for the Pontiac is possible since the situation has improved, but the population must be very careful” – CISSS de l’Outaouais
The Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux (CISSS) de l’Outaouais issued a press release to confirm that the special emergency measures will be lifted as of Monday, May 17, for the MRC Pontiac, Gatineau and the MRC des Collines-de-l’Outaouais. The measures of the maximum warning level (red) will therefore be applied there, in particular the opening of secondary schools, in alternation in class for the 3rd, 4th and 5th secondary.
“The lifting of measures for these three sectors of the region is possible since the situation has improved in terms of the number of cases, outbreaks and hospitalizations related to Covid-19. However, we urge the population to exercise great caution because the situation could quickly deteriorate if health measures are relaxed. The application of health measures remains the best way to protect yourself while the vaccination coverage of the population is constantly improving. In this sense and if it has not already been done, we strongly invite the adult population to make an appointment to be vaccinated, “said the CISSS de l’Outaouais.
