The Kitigan Zibi Pow‑Wow: an edition filled with culture and pride
The Kitigan Zibi Anishinabeg Pow‑Wow held its most recent edition on May 30th and 31st, 2026, bringing together visitors and participants from near and far to celebrate First Nations traditions.
Recognized as one of the most important traditional powwows in Quebec, the event gathered dancers, singers, and artisans in an atmosphere marked by respect, cultural transmission, and pride in Indigenous identity.
For two days, the community moved to the rhythm of the big drum, at the heart of traditional dances and opening ceremonies. Visitors were able to explore Indigenous craft booths, enjoy family activities, and witness the grand entry of dancers that set the tone for each day.
According to the organizers, this latest edition once again created a unique space for sharing between nations while showcasing the cultural richness of the Anishinabeg people.
The event also drew a large crowd, confirming its status as a must‑attend gathering in the Outaouais region.
