The Fishing Festival returns across Quebec
The Fishing Festival returns across Quebec
From June 5th to 7th, 2026, Quebec will celebrate its annual Fishing Festival, giving residents the chance to enjoy a free and accessible outdoor activity.
For these three days, fishing will be permitted without a licence in most bodies of water across the province, with the exception of Atlantic salmon fishing, which remains regulated.
The event aims to encourage families, friends, and outdoor enthusiasts to discover—or rediscover—fishing in a friendly and safe environment while enjoying Quebec’s natural beauty.
Special activities will also be offered in several regions to introduce young people and beginners to the sport.
Residents can consult the full schedule and find activities near them on the official Government of Quebec website.
In short, it’s the perfect weekend to get outside, relax by the water… and cast a line for free anywhere in Quebec.
