The first “Youth” Council of the MRC Pontiac begins January 21st

The first “Youth” Council of the MRC Pontiac will be held on January 21st, 2019. In a press release, the MRC Pontiac wanted to remind the public that this initiative is a first in the history of Quebec MRC’s. The “Youth” Council is made up of 18 students, 14 to 18 years old, representing the 18 municipalities of the MRC Pontiac.

The initiative was first tabled by the Warden, Jane Toller, and then accepted by the mayors during the Regional Councils’ meeting on September 17th. According to Jane Toller, this project is to give a voice to Pontiac youth allowing them to express their priorities for the future of the Pontiac.

The Youth Council will meet on Monday, January 21st at 7:00 pm in the Elsie Gibbons room of the Pontiac MRC in the presence of their parents, 3 school directors, 18 mayors and the Warden Jane Toller.
